How to Choose the Right Music Software and Vocal Editing Tools

In music production, the right tools often make the difference between a good track and a truly professional result. At SoundStoreXL, we have closely followed developments in the music industry for many years — not as producers, but as specialists in audio equipment, studio gear, and digital software. With in-house DJs and experts who work daily with professional audio equipment, we understand how crucial it is to choose the right combination of DAW software and vocal editing tools.

In this guide, we provide a clear, technical, and practical overview of the software licenses we carry — and how to choose the version that matches your level and workflow.

SoundStoreXL Presents

FL Studio

FL Studio is one of the world’s most popular digital audio workstations (DAWs). It is used by new producers, professional beatmakers, and international artists alike.

At SoundStoreXL, we offer all four official editions:

Studio bundles

FL Studio is available in four different editions, all sharing the same core program — the difference lies in the features and plugins included. Here’s a quick overview to help you choose the version that fits your needs.

Basic Composition and Pattern-Based Production

Fruity Edition

Fruity Edition is the lightest version of FL Studio, but still a powerful tool for producers who primarily work in the Piano Roll, Step Sequencer, and Channel Rack.

Technically, it includes full access to FL Studio’s internal synthesizers (e.g., 3xOsc, Sytrus in demo mode, FLEX), automation clips, MIDI composition, arpeggiator, and a wide range of standard effects.

The limitation is that you cannot record audio directly, and the mixer functions are restricted, making it less suitable for vocal production, live recording, and advanced audio editing.

Ideal for beatmakers, EDM producers, and those who build tracks around patterns rather than recorded audio.

Full DAW functionality with audio recording

Producer Edition

Producer Edition is the most widely used version among serious users because it unlocks the full FL Studio audio engine. Here you get full audio recording, time stretching, pitch shifting, advanced mixer routing, and access to tools such as Edison (audio editor), NewTime (time stretch/slicing), and NewTone (pitch correction).

Technically, this version allows you to work non-destructively with audio clips, record external instruments, use sidechain routing, parallel processing, and integrate external VST plugins without limitation. Producer Edition is a solid choice for everything from EDM to hip-hop, pop, and recording-based music production.

Expanded production with additional plugins

Signature Bundle

Signature Bundle builds on Producer Edition by including a package of extended plugins that provide access to more advanced sound manipulation and creative production. These typically include tools such as:

  • Gross Beat (gate, time manipulation, and glitch effects)
  • Harmless / Sytrus extended functionality (depending on version)
  • Pitcher (real-time pitch correction)
  • Video Player (for scoring and synchronization to video)

Technically, this allows for more experimental processing of both audio and MIDI, especially in live performance situations or creative sound design workflows. Signature Bundle is perfect for producers who want to expand their sound palette without purchasing plugins individually.

Complete plugin collection for maximum flexibility

All Plugins Edition

All Plugins Edition is FL Studio’s complete flagship version. It includes all Image-Line synthesizers, effects, and tools in full versions.

This means access to advanced tools such as:

  • Harmor (additive and resynthesis-based synth)
  • Serum-like additive/granular engines in IL’s own synths
  • Vocodex (high-end vocoder)
  • DirectWave full sampler
  • Fruity Convolver (IR-based reverb with advanced filtering options)

Technically, All Plugins Edition provides the greatest flexibility in sound design, granular synthesis, additive synthesis, FM synthesis, multiband processing, and creative effects.

This version is aimed at producers who want to work with advanced synth design, film composition, modern electronic music, or simply want an all-in-one solution.

SoundStoreXL Presents

Celemony - Melodyne

At SoundStoreXL, we work daily with professional studio equipment, and we know how crucial precise vocal editing is to the final result. That is why we offer software from Celemony – the developers behind Melodyne, one of the world’s most advanced tools for natural and detailed pitch correction. With Celemony’s technology, you get a level of editing freedom and sound quality that elevates any vocal production to a professional standard.

Melodyne packages

Melodyne 5 is available in several different versions, each offering a specific level of control over pitch, timing, and audio editing. From basic vocal tuning in Essential to advanced multitrack DNA editing in Studio, the series covers both simple needs and complex production environments. Here is an overview of four selected versions, each offering different features.

Basic pitch correction

Melodyne 5 Essential

Essential provides access to Celemony’s core DNA algorithm in a simplified form. You can correct pitch, vibrato, and timing in monophonic recordings, but without detailed control.

Technically, it is limited to basic pitch centering, pitch drift correction, and simple timing adjustment. Perfect for standard vocal tuning.

Advanced vocal and timing editing

Melodyne 5 Assistant

Assistant adds deeper control over timing, formants, and note transitions.

You can edit attack, glide, amplitude, and expression, providing much greater precision in vocal processing. Technically, you gain access to Celemony’s full monophonic editing engine.

Polyphonic DNA Editing

Melodyne 5 editor

Editor unlocks polyphonic analysis, allowing you to edit individual notes within chords and complex recordings. It provides granular control over pitch, timing, and amplitude across multiple harmonic layers. Ideal for guitar, piano, and detailed sound design.

The complete solution for multitrack editing

Melodyne 5 Studio

Melodyne 5 Studio is the version that offers the most comprehensive control over audio material, especially when working with multiple tracks simultaneously. Multitrack DNA makes it possible to analyze and edit pitch, timing, and amplitude across several recordings within a single integrated window.

The polyphonic engine allows you to isolate and adjust individual notes in complex chords or harmonic structures, which is particularly relevant when working with guitar, piano, or multi-layered vocals. The Studio version also offers extended tempo and groove detection, enabling entire recordings to be synchronized or tightened without losing the natural relationship between tracks.

From a technical standpoint, Studio is optimized for larger projects where both precision and overview are essential. It makes it possible to edit fine details while maintaining a full understanding of the arrangement — functionality that clearly distinguishes Studio from the other Melodyne versions.
