BIG is a “Binaural Image Generator” plugin that generates a pseudo-stereo image from mono sources or adds aura to stereo sources. It does this using a combination of cross-fed micro-pitch shifting and Haas delays.
BIG incorporates two high-quality micro-pitch shifters that generate complementary pitch shifts for the left and right channels. This pitch shifting enhances the stereo image while reducing comb filtering that can occur with simple stereo delay stereo spreading. Hi Cut and Lo Cut filters allow control over the frequency range of the generated signals to further improve the transparency and effectiveness of the processing.
BIG can be used to:
