Ekorain is a unique ambient/cinematic instrument that produces beautiful and delicate embellishments that we call EKOS.
Ekorain generates ornaments and ghost notes that complement your melodies. The speed and occurrence of these EKOS can be controlled via CC, so it can sound like a choir of gentle raindrops or a flood of musical beauty.
Unique Sound Generation
At the heart of Ekorain are 2 Sound Sources Layers that will perform the generated EKOS. The sounds are mainly sampled from acoustic instruments, but also from analogue/digital Synths, which have been specifically selected to beautifully blend with the more organic recordings.
EKOS Behaviours
The way EKOS are generated and performed can be fully controlled by the user. The unique speed control via CC allows the user to manipulate in real time the amount and speed of the generated EKOS, producing wonderful and unique effects of “musicality of time and space.”
Convolver and Random Effects
Ekorain includes the always-present Convolver with unique Impulse Responses that dramatically change the characteristics of the sounds.
More features
Ekorain also includes a Pitch Envelope control that can affect each Eko in different and creative ways.
Ekorain’s scale manager (with 4 user-selected scales that can be recalled via key switch) ensures that all generated Ekos, while following the intervals set by the user, will never be out of key.
Pad Layer
Ekorain also includes a third layer that offers pad-type sound sources that will complement the generated Ekos in specific musical situations where a thicker sound is needed. Movement can be applied to the Pad Layer by enabling Pad Step Volume, which includes Sequence presets and can also be randomised.
Arpeggiator
Ekorain has an arpeggiator that can be used in conjunction with the Ekos effect. The arpeggiator includes all the usual functions, but produces an exquisite sound aura when Ekos become embellishments of the arpeggiated notes at lower arpeggio speeds.
Midi Drag & Drop
All notes generated by Ekorain can be captured and exported via Midi Drag & Drop, so you can use them with another instrument on another track.
