Unrivalled Realism

Imagine you’re in a real studio room recording a drum kit. When the head is struck, the snare microphone naturally captures the primary hit—but the kick, tom and even overhead microphones do too. That subtle "cross talk" is what makes a live drum recording feel organic, as each hit resonates through the entire kit.

Extinction Level Event digitally replicates this exact phenomenon through a feature we call "Full Bleed". For example, when you trigger a snare hit, you’ll also capture a faint trace of that snare in the kick mic channel, overheads, or any other microphone involved. As a result, each drum element interacts with the whole kit, creating a sense of depth and authenticity that purely isolated samples can’t match.

For example, if you program a fast section of hi-hat work along with intermittent snare hits, you’ll hear the hi-hat bleed into the snare mic, shaping the overall tone and making the performance sound far less “robotic.” And if you decide you want a tighter, more modern sound, you can simply turn down or disable bleed. This flexibility means you’re not locked into a single style—you can go from raw, loose and roomy to clinically precise at any time.

Because ELE also includes extensive velocity layers and round-robin samples, every single drum hit is slightly different and responds naturally to the rest of the kit. This attention to detail is what lets you program drums that feel truly alive, while preserving the nuance and energy of a real drummer’s performance, while you have full control over how much bleed (and therefore how much raw realism) you want to inject into your mix.

One of the things that can be annoying is having to open lots of plugins on different tracks when working with drums. We’ve made it so that ELE is its own complete package. You can change every aspect of the drum tone directly within ELE itself.

With our new built-in mixer, you have everything you need:

• Two EQ types (Digital and Analog)

• 1176-style compression
• Transient designer
• ADSR controls
• Two reverb sends (Non-Linear or Plate)

These grooves have the feel and dynamics of a real drummer; all you have to do is find the groove that works best for your song, and bam, done!
