Gyratec XIV delivers the authentic sound of a cult line of passive EQ units. Our take on this classic features the same parallel filter topology as its predecessor, while taking its versatility and potential to a new level.
Gyratec XIV includes an additional mono mode, making it suitable for any audio source or application.
What makes Gyratec XIV both a powerful mastering equalizer and a precise surgical tool is the unique behaviour of the variable Q setting. When a band is set to boost, the Q is fairly wide. When it is set to cut, the filter becomes much narrower and more aggressive, approaching a notch at extreme settings.
When used on stereo sources, the Gyratec circuit topology subtly widens the stereo image. When applied on a Mix Bus, it creates more space in the mix without adding any audible artefacts or phase distortion.
