Acoustic and soundproofing for rooms and studios
A good sound environment is essential for many types of rooms. It goes without saying that in a recording studio or your home sound studio, there is a very high focus on the sound experience in the design of the studio. A lot of measures are taken to ensure that recordings are not contaminated by external noise or other unwanted sounds. In the same way, but perhaps less obvious, one should also be aware of sound when, for example, designing conference rooms, classrooms, and offices. Rooms where there is typically a speaker and a larger gathering of people need good acoustics so that those in the room can feel comfortable.
There are several different options for creating good acoustics and soundproofing in a room or studio. With us, you will find materials such as acoustic foam and acoustic fabric, which are two very effective means in relation to acoustics and soundproofing. Acoustic foam, also called egg crate foam, you definitely know from the sound studio, where it often frames the entire room from walls to ceiling. You get a clearer and cleaner recording because the design absorbs many of the sound wave reflections that hopper back and forth. Acoustic foam comes in panel form in several sizes and colors, so it can be adapted as needed.
In this context, reflection filters should also be mentioned, which are a must-have in any sound studio. Reflection filters are placed around the microphone, and there are generally two types. One is placed on the microphone stand, so it frames the microphone and speaker/singer in a small "closed" space, keeping all other sound sources in the room away from the microphone and thus not included in the recording. The second type is also called a pop filter. Unlike the first type of filter, a pop filter is placed between the speaker/singer and the microphone. The purpose is to absorb the "pop" sounds that occur when certain letters are pronounced, e.g., "p" and "b". This prevents the noise from the pop sounds from being included in the recording.
Acoustic fabric has the same function as acoustic foam but differs in form and how it is used. The fabric is a piece of cloth made from sound-absorbing materials and can be cut to size as needed. Its versatility means that it can be used in many different contexts - conference rooms, concert halls, exhibition halls, private homes, etc. Acoustic fabrics are mostly used together with wooden strips or ribs, so it covers entire walls and/or ceilings. It provides a superior sound experience and gives the room a beautiful visual design.
