It's Yamaha's Actuator technology that helps create that big sound. Inside the guitar is technology that makes the back of the guitar vibrate along with the strings, amplifying the natural reverb of the guitar in the room. It's also worth mentioning that the control panel for the guitar's electronics is very elegantly designed without a large, bulky unit - it's just 3 simple buttons directly on the side of the guitar. Similarly, the battery holder is mounted together with the jack plug, so as few extra holes need to be made in the body of the guitar as possible - resulting in a more natural sound.
