• When connecting a sound card and a preamp with digital output, it can be done in two ways. One of the devices should be master clock and the other 'slave'. If your soundcard has wordclock out (such as Focusrite 18i20), the soundcard must be master clock and Octopre set to 'slave' (set to wordclock on the front panel). Connect with an ADAT/toslink cable and a BNC cable from wordclock out (soundcard) to wordclock in (octopre).
• If your soundcard does not have wordclock (such as Focusrite 18i8), set the soundcard to 'slave' and set octopre to 'Internal' on the front panel. The two devices are connected with a single ADAT/toslink cable. The sound card settings are made in the Focusrite Control app for the computer. Download from Focusrite.
