PDI 03 JB Speaker Simulator is a professional passive DI box for guitar amplifiers. It delivers a frequency-compensated, transformer-balanced direct signal to mixing consoles or audio interfaces and is connected between the amp’s output and the speaker or a corresponding dummy load. PDI 03 JB is designed for live, studio and home-studio recordings to eliminate the need for time-consuming microphone placement and mic-related issues.
Designed to Joe Bonamassa’s high standards for a big yet tightly focused tone, the exclusive JB switch brings the output signal to the forefront and puts it “right in your face.” PDI 03 JB’s dual speaker-simulation filters are carefully voiced to authentically reproduce the frequency response of classic and modern speakers and cabinets. The unit’s input sensitivity can be adjusted for amplifiers up to 200 watts or line- and instrument-level equipment.
By providing a consistent guitar sound from gig to gig, the PDI-03 JB can also be used to add realistic speaker character to preamps and overdrive/distortion pedals in direct recording applications. The rugged, powder-coated steel enclosure features high-quality Amphenol connectors and a ground lift to eliminate hum caused by ground loops.
For amp DI WITHOUT speakers, a dummy load with matching impedance must be connected. We recommend the Palmer Power Attenuator PDI06 and the Palmer Dual Load Box PLB2X8.
