Want to record the raw signal from a guitar, bass or keyboard without noise and loss of tone, even over long cable runs? That’s exactly what Palmer Elde does – simple and reliable. Especially because Elde is a classic passive DI box, and it even features a dual-channel design. This means you can use it for stereo signals as well as for two different instruments.
Each input is routed to a THRU Out, so the signal can be passed on to the guitar/bass amp. For very high signal levels, each channel has its own pad switch (-30 dB), so you can also insert Elde between the amp output and the speaker. The output signals are balanced and low-impedance, so they can handle even longer cable runs without loss. Impedance conversion and balancing are done passively via a transformer, which also provides galvanic isolation. Each channel has its own ground lift switch to eliminate ground loops.
Palmer Elde is a high-quality two-channel DI box that is extremely easy to use. Thanks to its passive design, it requires neither batteries nor phantom power. This makes it extremely reliable and failsafe. With its rugged aluminium/steel housing, Palmer Elde easily withstands tough daily use on stage, and with its clean, unaltered sound it’s also perfect for the recording studio.
