Palmer TINO SYSTEM – Switching system for 2 guitar amplifiers to 1 cabinet with remote input

Ambitious guitarists often use two amplifiers to achieve different core tones. However, transport, lack of space and the output loss associated with PA speakers can be very impractical. This is where TINO S comes in. The switching system makes it possible to use two amplifiers with just one box as an alternative. Whether you use tube amplifiers that require a load or transistor models. Even a mixed combination is possible without any problems.

Switching between the amplifiers can be operated via a push button on the unit or via an optional standard footswitch or a switching system. If switching via a switching system is not possible, a standard footswitch can be connected to the corresponding 6.3 mm jack. (Requires a switch, not momentary push buttons!)

TINO routes the guitar signal to the selected amplifier, while the other, unused amplifier is muted to prevent unwanted interference. (As if the potentiometer on the guitar had been turned all the way down). The gain from instrument input to output is one (unity gain). The built-in buffer only converts the impedance, making a high-impedance guitar less sensitive to interference. When the guitar signal is switched, the speaker is switched at the same time, while the speaker output from the muted amplifier is connected to a load (dummy load). This makes tube amplifiers completely safe from dangerous no-load operation.

When connecting two amplifiers together, a strong hum often overlays the guitar signal. This unwanted effect is called a ground loop and occurs between mains-powered devices due to a double earth connection. TWO IN ONE prevents this by decoupling the outputs to the amplifiers with high-quality isolating repeaters. Soft switching between the amplifiers also ensures that the process takes place without crackling in the speaker. Power is supplied via the included 9V power adapter.
