The result of extensive sonic experimentation focused on acoustic synthesis, Vespera is a hybrid electro-acoustic synthesizer that seamlessly fuses the raw distortion of tube-driven circuitry with the inherent resonance of physical objects. Each oscillation undergoes a complete transformation through careful re-amping via a vibrating loudspeaker transducer—resonating through various media, including drums with different heads, metal springs, and the sympathetic vibrations of resonant instruments such as a rare giant Indian Ezraj and a Swedish Nyckelharpa. Recorded using a pair of custom-built Oaka Instruments Tellus pickups with an extended signal path, using custom preamps and premium mastering-grade AD conversion. The result is a wide range of organic textures and tones that transform the brutality of the original distorted modular synth signals into entirely new sounds, opening up inspiring possibilities for sonic exploration.
