The result of extensive sonic experiments focused on acoustic synthesis, Vespera is a hybrid electro-acoustic synthesizer that seamlessly fuses the raw distortion of tube-driven circuitry with the inherent resonance of physical objects. Each oscillation undergoes a complete transformation through careful re-amping via a vibrating speaker transducer—resonating through different media, including drums with various heads, metal springs, and the sympathetic vibrations of resonant instruments such as a rare giant Indian Ezraj and a Swedish Nyckelharpa. Recorded using a pair of custom-made Oaka Instruments Tellus pickups with an extended signal path, using custom-built preamps and premium mastering-grade AD conversion. The result is a wide range of organic textures and tones that transform the brutality of the original distorted modular synth signals into entirely new sounds, opening up inspiring possibilities for sound exploration.
