The result of extensive sonic experiments focused on acoustic synthesis, Vespera is a hybrid electro-acoustic synthesizer that seamlessly fuses the raw distortion of tube-driven circuitry with the inherent resonance of physical objects. Each oscillation undergoes a complete transformation through careful re-amplification via a vibrating speaker transducer—resonating through various media, including drums with different skins, metal springs, and the sympathetic vibrations of resonant instruments such as a rare giant Indian Ezraj and a Swedish Nyckelharpa. Captured using a pair of custom-built Oaka Instruments Tellus pickups with an extended-range signal path, using custom-built preamps and best-in-class mastering-grade AD conversion. The result is a multitude of organic textures and tones that transformed the brutality of the original distorted modular synth signals into entirely new sounds, opening inspiring possibilities for sonic exploration.
