    Meet the new Nexadyne microphones

Shure has always been synonymous with top-shelf microphone technology. There are very few vocalists who haven’t come into contact with an SM58, BETA58A, SM7B, KSM9 or another of Shure’s classics, and there is probably hardly any brand with as many ‘industry standards’ in its range.

    Revonic Dual-Engine Transducer Technology

What’s revolutionary about Nexadyne is Shure’s new “Revonic Dual-Engine Transducer Technology”. It’s a system where the Nexadyne microphone houses two completely separate microphone capsules designed to work together – meaning two sets of diaphragms, magnets and voice coils working in tandem. There are no settings where you choose which capsule is active – they are always both in play and work in conjunction.

    Enhanced sound with less processing

If you have worked with a vocal microphone live, you know it’s necessary to process the signal with an EQ to remove problematic frequencies and bring out the best in the voice. Nexadyne’s two separate capsules are designed to work together and create so-called ‘acoustic processing’. That means they are designed to naturally produce a microphone signal that is clearer and needs less EQ. That way, it becomes much easier to get the vocal to reach every corner of the venue when you perform.

    The two Nexadyne versions

Nexadyne is basically available in two versions, where the only difference is the polar pattern. Nexadyne 8/C has a cardioid polar pattern, while Nexadyne 8/S is supercardioid. In practice, this means that the 8/S version picks up sound in a narrower area in front of the microphone and also picks up a small amount of sound behind the microphone, which can be an advantage on smaller stages or if there is a lot of stage noise. This can be compared to the classics SM58 and BETA58A, where the SM58 is cardioid and the BETA58A is supercardioid.

    Upgrade your wireless system

If you use a wireless system from Shure with interchangeable microphone capsules, you can also easily switch to Nexadyne. You can choose between the cardioid and supercardioid versions, both available in black and nickel finishes:

RPW200: Nexadyne 8/C with cardioid polar pattern (black)
RPW202: Nexadyne 8/C with cardioid polar pattern (nickel)
RPW204: Nexadyne 8/S with supercardioid polar pattern (black)
RPW206: Nexadyne 8/S with supercardioid polar pattern (nickel)

This makes it easy to upgrade your wireless system, such as Shure SLXD or Shure QLXD, with a Nexadyne capsule.

    Is Nexadyne right for you?

It’s rare that you can call a dynamic microphone groundbreaking – after all, it’s a technology that has existed for almost 100 years. But Shure has thought outside the box and created a microphone that makes it easier for vocalists to cut through on stage – and overall sounds really great! It’s easy to say ‘clear and crisp’ about a microphone, but with Nexadyne it’s more than empty adjectives – here you actually get a microphone that delivers something out of the ordinary, and if you’re missing clarity in your vocal, you should definitely try a Nexadyne for your next gig!!
