Ernie Ball 2017 Paradigm Ultra Slinky – electric guitar strings with extra break resistance and longer-lasting “fresh” tone
If you play hard, bend a lot, and want to trust that your strings will hold up, Ernie Ball Paradigm Ultra Slinky is a set of electric guitar strings built to take a beating. You get notably high durability and improved tensile/stretch performance (stated as up to 37% more “stretch” than traditional strings), which helps reduce string breakage and keep your guitar stable for longer. At the same time, they’re designed to resist sweat and moisture, so you keep the crisp, “bright” top end and a fresh attack for longer.
The core is tin-plated high-carbon steel with a hex core for a firm grip on the winding and a punchy response. The wound strings feature nickel-plated steel wrap over the tin-plated core, and the roundwound construction delivers the classic electric guitar feel: clear attack, defined string separation, and a lively overtone structure. The Everlast nano treatment is made to extend lifespan without the obvious “coated feel”, and the plasma-enhanced wrap wire is developed to contribute to both strength and consistency.
This set suits you if you want Ultra Slinky tension and a versatile gauge for rock, pop, punk, and modern blues, where bends and vibrato should feel easy, while still having enough low-end for riffs and rhythm playing. The gauges are .010–.048, which corresponds to approx. 0.025–0.122 cm in string diameter, and you get a total of 6 strings in one set. Made in the USA, and the Paradigm series is marketed with a 90-day break/rust warranty (replacement in case of breakage or rust within the period; terms may vary).
