Ernie Ball Paradigm 2086 is a set of acoustic steel strings for a 6-string western guitar, developed for those who want the crisp, clear 80/20 bronze sound but are tired of the tone going dull quickly. The ultra-thin nano anti-corrosion treatment protects against sweat and oils, so you keep that “new string” attack and projection for longer – without the heavy coated feel.

The sound is bright, articulate and punchy on the attack: 80/20 bronze delivers clear definition in chords, an open top end and strong projection, while the steel core and plain steel on the treble strings ensure stable intonation and a precise response. At the same time, the Paradigm series is built with a focus on high strength and break resistance, giving you a set that can handle harder playing and frequent retuning better than many traditional acoustic strings.

The set fits standard 6-string acoustic steel-string guitars and strikes a good balance between easy playability and a solid low-end foundation. The gauges are .012–.054, corresponding to approx. 0.030–0.137 cm, which typically feels like “Medium Light” with noticeable fullness on the lower strings and still a relatively supple top for bends and dynamics. The strings have ball ends (often colour-coded), so you can identify them more quickly during installation.
