Ernie Ball Ultra Slinky 2227 is a custom gauge electric guitar string set that gives you the best of both worlds: easy playing and smooth bending on the thin strings, combined with a tighter, more solid low end on the wound strings. The result is a more stable and “tight” feel for riffs, drop-style rhythms and heavier picking, without having to fight the treble strings.

Tonally, you get the classic, versatile electric guitar sound of nickel-plated steel: a full low end, clear midrange and a crisp top that cuts through without getting harsh. The roundwound construction delivers the familiar attack and sustain, while a tin-plated, hex-shaped steel core helps with stability, better intonation and consistent response string to string. The strings come in moisture-resistant Element Shield packaging, which is water-/airtight and helps keep the set fresh until you open it.

The set fits a 6-string electric guitar and is ideal if you normally play 10s but want a little more “hold” in the bass. Gauges are 0.25 mm, 0.33 mm, 0.43 mm, 0.71 mm, 0.97 mm and 1.22 mm, giving you a clear hybrid feel (lighter top, heavier bottom).
