The patented cobalt alloy wrap wire around a steel core is built to deliver a wide dynamic range and a clear harmonic response, where the low end feels bigger while the highs still cut sharply and clearly through the mix. The surface of the wound strings can feel more textured/matte than classic nickelwound, and the construction is designed to retain that “slinky” flexibility, so bends and vibrato feel easier than you would normally expect from strings this thick.

The set is heavy gauge 12–62 (0,305–1,575 mm), making it ideal for downtuning and riff-oriented playing where you want to avoid slackness and achieve stable intonation. It is a 6-string set with gauges: 0,305 cm / 0,406 cm / 0,610 cm (wound) / 0,864 cm / 1,219 cm / 1,575 cm. Note: Some players find that cobalt strings can feel more “tacky” over time, and there have also been a few mentions of issues with the ball end/string winding on the thinner strings; therefore always check correct installation and that the ball end is seated properly in the bridge, especially if you play aggressively or retune often.
