Ernie Ball Slinky M‑Steel is a set of electric guitar strings that gives you more attack, more definition, and tuning that stays exactly where you set it. The extremely strong M‑Steel hex core increases tension and stability in the strings, giving you a firm, controlled feel under your fingers and reliable tuning – even when you play hard, do big bends, or attack the pick aggressively. The result is higher output and a clearer response without having to move up to thicker strings.
On the wound strings, you get a patented Super Cobalt wrap that comes across as a fuller low end and a more open top with clear overtones. The bright, metallic finish and the pronounced roundwound winding on the three lower strings deliver a punchy, “lively” tone with plenty of bite, while the smooth plain strings in specially tempered steel feel fast and stable. The patented ball-end winding holds the strings more securely in place, so you get fewer issues with slippage and a more confident, solid attack.
Regular Slinky 10–46 is the classic all-round choice that suits both rhythm and lead.
