Ernie Ball 3120 Coated Power Slinky is a 6-string electric guitar set for those who want the familiar Slinky feel and clear, punchy attack – just with a significantly longer lifespan. The micro-thin enamel coating protects the wound strings from sweat, moisture and dirt, giving you more hours of that “new string” tone and less time spent changing strings. At the same time, the Titanium RPS construction on the plain strings helps reduce breakage at the ball end, so you can play hard without worrying about sudden snaps.
The construction is built for a firm and precise response: roundwound nickel plated steel winding on a high-carbon steel hex core delivers fast attack, stable intonation and a tight feel under your fingers. The coating is not a colour layer – the strings still have the classic silver/metallic look and feel natural, while the moisture- and oil-repellent treatment helps keep the surface smooth and the tone open for longer. On the plain strings, rust-resistant plating and the patented titanium reinforcement winding at the ball end provide extra durability and better tuning stability, especially when you play aggressively or do lots of bends.
Gauge 11–48 (Power Slinky) is perfect if you want more resistance, more punch and a clearer attack than lighter sets. It’s a strong choice for rock and metal, for heavy picking, and for players who want a tight and controlled low end – even when experimenting with down-tuning. You get a complete set with gauges 0,279–1,219 mm, so you can feel the extra “backbone” in your playing without losing the Slinky feel.
