When you play hard, sweat on stage or practise for hours, strings are often the first thing to give up: they lose their sparkle, start to feel sluggish and break at the wrong moments. Ernie Ball Slinky RPS Coated Titanium Not Even Slinky solves this with a protective coating on the wound strings that keeps moisture, oil and corrosion out, while still feeling and sounding like a classic uncoated Slinky set. The result is a tight, stable response and a tone that stays clear and lively for longer.
The build quality is made to stand up to real-world use. The wound strings have a thin enamel coating that acts like an invisible shield without making the string feel “plastic-like” under your fingers. The plain strings get both rust-resistant plating and a patented titanium reinforcement at the ball end (RPS), making them significantly more resistant to string breakage where the tension is greatest. The roundwound construction on a hex core gives a firm grip in the attack, clear bite and a punchy low end that feels tight in the hand.
The 12–56 set is for players who want more tension, more control and a tighter feel – perfect for a heavy picking hand, hard-hitting rhythm playing and down-tunings where strings can otherwise feel floppy. The gauges are .012–.056" (0,305–1,422 mm), so you get a solid, stable playing experience with plenty of foundation in the lower strings. If you’re switching from a lighter set, your guitar may benefit from a quick setup so the intonation and neck relief are dialled in perfectly.
