Ernie Ball 3127 Slinky RPS Coated Titanium is a coated electric guitar string set for those who want to avoid dead strings, rust, and the “sticky” feel that many coated sets can have. You get the open, lively response and direct attack you know from uncoated strings – just with protection that keeps the tone fresh for up to 5x longer, even with sweat, humidity, and long practice sessions on the schedule.
The wound strings are made from nickel-plated steel and feature an ultra-thin enamel/nanotech coating that acts like an invisible shield against corrosion without choking the overtones. Under your fingers they feel smooth and fast, with a subtle metallic sheen and a clean, immediate attack that still “snaps” when you dig in. The plain strings get rust-resistant plating and Ernie Ball’s patented Titanium RPS reinforcement at the ball-end, which holds more securely, reduces the risk of breakage, and helps with stable tuning – especially when you play hard.
