RØDE Connect is a free app that provides many of the professional features found in the popular RødeCaster podcast mixer, but as software for PC & Mac. This includes automatic mix-minus on all channels, sound pads for jingles, effects, or playing interviews, and much more.

GO, GO, GO!

Until now, all of this has only been possible with RØDE's NT-USB Mini microphone, which can connect up to four devices to a computer. The NT-USB Mini is incredibly good-sounding and compact, but it's not the best mobile solution with cables, microphone arms, and more that need to be set up and transported. If you record your podcasts on location, there's fantastic news from RØDE - now you can also use the popular Wireless GO II with RØDE Connect, giving you two or four wireless channels ready for recording in seconds!

After the latest update, you can connect up to two Wireless GO II systems to a PC or Mac and use them with the RØDE Connect app to stream, record podcasts, or interviews - without worrying about hauling a lot of equipment. The Wireless GO II system includes one receiver and two transmitters with built-in microphones. For maximum flexibility and even better sound, we recommend using the Wireless GO II with RØDE's Lavalier GO lapel microphone. It's easier to place on clothing and provides even better sound than the built-in microphone. Setup is super easy - you just need to turn on the system and it will synchronize automatically. The battery life is seven hours - just remember that the system needs to be charged before use, as it can easily cause interference if used while charging.

The Connect app, in addition to the four microphone channels, also has two virtual channels that you can use to play audio from your computer and to receive calls over Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, or similar platforms - and if you're streaming, you can of course use RØDE Connect with popular programs like OBS or XSplit. When recording, you can either record a stereo file or create a multichannel recording that can be mixed later.

The only feature you miss out on by using the Wireless GO II is the absence of Aphex Exciter and 'Big Bottom,' as well as Noise Gate and compressor on the individual channels, as these effects are handled by the built-in DSP in the NT-USB Mini microphone. Exciter and Big Bottom would also not be good effects for an omni microphone like the Lavalier GO or the built-in microphone in the Wireless GO II transmitters.

If you want to record professional audio with pro features, which normally only come with much more expensive solutions, it has never been easier than now. All of RØDE's products are designed to be extremely user-friendly and require minimal technical know-how - while delivering high production value that is also good enough for professionals. If you're looking for a new podcast setup that's easy to use, sounds fantastic, and is packed with professional features, RØDE Connect, Wireless GO II, and NT-USB Mini are definitely worth considering!
